Orphaned and roughed up by his fellow marsupials, he was rescued by Ballarat Wildlife Park, where he was lovingly wheeled about in a wheelbarrow (his growing weight made other transport tricky). Since then, Mr Pat has stolen hearts around the globe—just like this wine.

Vineyard & Winemaking

This Merlot is grown under the golden Australian sun along the banks of the mighty Murray River, near Mildura—right at the heart of Australia’s agricultural heartland. The region enjoys a classic Mediterranean climate, perfect for nurturing fruit-forward, juicy reds.

The vines are planted in ancient, sandy soils, which are revitalised using recycled organic matter from surrounding crops—a sustainable practice that maximises water efficiency and soil health. Speckled sunlight filters through the lush vine canopies, allowing the grapes to ripen gently and evenly through late summer, ready for harvest come autumn.

Winemaking is kept simple and hands-off to preserve the purity and brightness of the fruit.
