Mirabello Pinot Grigio Rosé, Provincia di Pavia IGT

Description

A fresh and enticing style of Pinot Grigio Rosé from the Pavia region in north-west Italy. The inclusion of early-harvested Pinot Noir grapes and gentle pressing results in a delicate salmon-pink hue with subtle notes of red berry fruit.

Production

Crafted from grapes grown in the Pavia region of north-west Italy, the ripest fruit was carefully selected from mature hillside vineyards and hand-harvested in early September. 

The extra ripeness allows the dark-skinned Pinot Grigio grapes to develop a soft pink tint, further enhanced by the addition of a small proportion of Barbera and Pinot Noir from the same vineyards. 

The grapes were harvested at peak ripeness and left in contact with their skins for 12 hours at a low temperature before gentle pressing. A slow, cool fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks ensured the preservation of freshness and aromas before the wine was bottled young.

Tasting Notes

A pale coral pink in appearance, this is a dry, fresh, and fruity rosé with delicate aromas of red berries. The palate is juicy with vibrant red berries and cherry fruit, complemented by a lightly creamy texture and zesty acidity, leading to a crisp, dry finish.

Food Pairing

Serve well chilled as an aperitif or alongside salads, cold meats such as salami or smoked chicken, or seafood dishes.
