Producer Overview
The Biscardo family has a rich winemaking heritage in Soave, spanning over 150 years, and is currently overseen by brothers Maurizio and Martino. Maurizio, with his extensive and renowned career, has provided consulting for prestigious wineries throughout Italy.
It was through his work that he discovered the vineyards responsible for their wines from Puglia. Both their Puglian and Veneto wines stand out for their remarkable ease of drinking, aromatic clarity, and outstanding value.
Viticulture
The vineyards are situated on a blend of clay, sand, and silt, positioned on eastward-facing slopes. The vines are managed using the Guyot training system, with average yields typically not exceeding 100 quintals per hectare.
Winemaking
Fermentation occurs over 15 days in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 13-14°C. The wine undergoes a prolonged aging process, spending around five months resting on its fine lees in stainless steel tanks.
Tasting Notes
This wine presents a vivid straw yellow colour with greenish tinges. It offers delicate floral aromas, accompanied by hints of citrus and yellow-fleshed fruits. The palate is fresh, mineral-driven, and well-structured with excellent balance.
Food Pairing
Ideal companions for this wine include pasta, risotto, soups, seafood, shellfish, white meats, and aged cheeses.
