Viva Vino
Kukupa, Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand, 2023
Viticulture
The fruit for this wine comes exclusively from the Kerseley estate vineyard, where vines were planted between 1991 and 2008. The vines are cultivated using a vertical shoot positioning (VSP) trellis system in the Dillons Point region, located just under a kilometre from the coastline.
Winemaking
The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled low temperature, using only natural yeasts. This method highlights the distinctiveness of the vineyard’s terroir in the final wine.
Tasting Notes
The nose is bursting with intense aromas of grapefruit, passionfruit, lime, and a touch of ginger. On the palate, the wine is fresh and textured, with a vibrant citrus character complemented by subtle notes of lime cordial, grapefruit, and lychee. The finish is both long and powerful.
Food Pairing
This wine pairs wonderfully with grilled fish, seafood dishes prepared in an Asian style, or spicy Thai cuisine.
